John W. Sangwin is the author of Johnny’s World: The Series-In-One and A Storybook Collection. His writing comes from a place of faith, family, music, memory, and a sincere desire to encourage others.
John lives in Port Arthur, Texas, with his wife, Pat. Through his stories, he hopes to remind readers that kindness still matters, faith can carry us through, and every life has moments worth remembering.
A Life Shaped by Faith, Music, and Story
John Walter Sangwin was born in January 1954 to Virginia Darlene Bixby Sangwin and Melvin Edward Sangwin. Looking back, John sees his life as a journey of slowly discovering the person God was helping him become.
Music was one of the first ways that journey began. He remembers listening to the radio, hearing his mother sing around the house, and finding a deeper connection through church. What started as a love for music became part of something much bigger.
Church gave John a place to grow, serve, listen, and share. A passage from Ephesians 5:19-21 became especially meaningful to him because it speaks about making music from the heart, giving thanks, and living with faith.
For John, faith was never only something to sing about. It became something to live, speak, and share with others.
Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God.

How Storytelling Became Writing
John’s path as an author began in a simple and meaningful way. He enjoyed telling stories to children. Those moments of sharing and creating helped open the door to writing.
Over time, storytelling became more than a pastime. It became a way for John to encourage people, reflect on life, and share messages of hope.
His writing platform, J.W. Creative Writer, became what he calls his reader’s perch. It is a place where readers can find him, connect with his work, and follow the stories he continues to share.
John’s mission is simple. He wants to reach people through his writing and offer positive encouragement for everyday living.

John is also the author of A Storybook Collection, a group of ten short stories that takes readers through different places, moments, and themes. Some stories are reflective, some are mysterious, and others carry messages of hope, love, and faith.
